Connect to the Marketplace

In order to download, query, or upload and publish your own data you need to be connected and signed in to the Data Marketplace.

To start this process, click “Connect” in the top right corner of your screen. On mobile, you tap the 3 vertical lines (also known as a burger menu) and click "Connect" from the menu.

On the pop-up window that appears you have two choices. You can either connect using your email address, or use an existing Web3 wallet if you have one (Metamask, Ledger, WalletConnect, Portis - more wallet support coming soon). Both options are explained below.

Use an email address

If you have no idea what a Web3 wallet is we encourage you to use your email address to get started. Simply enter your email in the input field and click the “Sign Up” button.

You will see a message that asks you to check your email. Do not close the browser window or tab while you check your email.

Next, click the link or button sent to your email from Magic, which allows you to access the Data Marketplace. Note that this email could appear in the junk folder of your email inbox.

Once you’ve clicked the link you should receive a notification redirecting you to the Data Marketplace.

Come back to the window or browser tab in which you had the Data Marketplace open and you should be are logged in.

Click the "X" to exit the account pop-up window.

Now that you are connected, you can continue browsing the datasets hosted on our Marketplace and download any data you like.

Using a Web3 wallet

Select your existing wallet from our available options and connect as you normally would. Note: make sure you are connected to the correct network - warning message will appear with a link to easily switch to the appropiate blockchain network (see below).

More detailed instructions for Metamask browser wallet can be found below.

If you use the Metamask browser plug-in wallet, click the Metamask logo and enter your password.

Next, via the check boxes, select which of your addresses you grant permission to connect to the Data Marketplace. Click "Next" to proceed.

In the next Metamask pop-up window, click "Connect" to confirm. You are now connected to our Data Marketplace!

Finally, connect to the Mumbai Network, which is a Test Network for the Polygon blockchain. Click the link in the warning text and click "Approve" then "Switch Network" in the Metamask browser pop-up to switch to the correct blockchain network.

Click the "X" to exit the account pop-up window.

You can now continue browsing the datasets hosted on our Marketplace and download any data you like.
